JoeAnn Haczynski (Nee Wieczorek) age 80, of Beecher, passed away Saturday, May 3rd at home. She is survived by her Son Christopher (Patricia) Haczynski, Daughter Colleen (Richard) Chang; Grandchildren Benjamin & Brandon (Fiance Madison) Haczynski and Madison & Jordan (Fiance' Hailey) Chang. JoeAnn was preceded in death by her Husband Roger, Mother Irene and Father Joseph Wieczorek.
In addition to being a homemaker and raising a family, JoeAnn had many hobbies and interests. Her passion was Starbucks Hot Chocolates. She was probably in every Starbucks from Chicago to Florida to San Diego, many times walking several miles roundtrip to get one. A little-known fact was that she raised and trained a flock of Duck at her home in Beecher. They would walk to and from their duck house to the family pond with just a hand motion. Later in life, JoeAnn and Roger would Winter in Florida splitting their time between the swimming pool and going to garage sales and flea markets to search for treasures. She particularly enjoyed traveling with Roger to watch her grandchildren compete in their chosen sports from Baseball to Basketball to Robotics. JoeAnn is loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 7th from 9am-11am at BURDAN FUNERAL HOME, 12901 Wicker Ave, Cedar Lake, IN. A mass will take place on Wednesday at 11:30am at Holy Name Catholic Church, 11000 W 133rd Ave, Cedar Lake, IN and burial to follow at Holy Name Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital
