Joel Aery Obituary
On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Joel Aery of Troy NY passed unexpectedly from this life to his home in heaven with Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He was 42.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Janet Aery of Colonie, NY, his sisters Bethany and Kaitlyn and their spouses (Matt, Theresa), nephew Michael Clerico, niece Isabella Clerico, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Joel was predeceased by his brother Nathaniel in 1982.
Joel was born on June 5, 1980 in Albany NY. He held an associate's degree in Construction Technology from Hudson Valley Community College. For many years he owned and operated his own residential roofing business.
Joel had a God given talent for playing guitar and leading worship. He had a heart for the underprivileged and hurting, especially children and youth. He ministered on many short term mission trips to Guatemala, India, Haiti, and especially the Dominican Republic.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Saturday, April 08, 2023 from 11 AM - 1 PM. At Joel's request, a private memorial service will be held at a time to be determined.

Really enjoyed any time we were able to spend with Joel, including replacing our roof, strumming on the guitar, and helping us build a deck.

My condolences to Joel´s family and close friends. This is very sad news however I pray you see him free from pain and suffering and truly living now in the presence of his Savior. Joel had a contagious smile and laughter, so appreciated his down to earth yet encouraging in the Lord consistent personality he shared. He impressively went after life, adventure and challenges. I met Joel at Victory church approximately 2000 year, and remember him with his guitar singing, fellowship, and love for God, always a refreshing soul to be around. I´ve seen him over the years always with a new story or adventure in life and heart for ministry. What a gem he was, so sorry life ended here so young. Praying for family as you grieve. These times are reminders how life is so short and our eternal status is what really matters.

My heart has been heavy since I heard of Joel's passing. I will never forget how he took my daughter under his wing and helped her through some dark times. For that I have been forever grateful..
