Joel lived a life filled with compassion, friendship, and a deep love for family and sports.
As a proud veteran of the United States Army, Joel served his country with honor and dedication. Joel's experiences in life shaped him into the selfless, giving, and free-hearted individual that all who knew him admired.
Joel was not only a veteran but also a sports fanatic with an unwavering devotion to football, particularly his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggies. His enthusiasm for sports transcended mere fandom; it was a connection that brought him closer to those he loved, sharing countless moments of excitement and camaraderie.

Those who spent time with him on the water will remember the calmness he exuded, along with his friendly nature and readiness to share laughter and stories. His nickname, "Babe," was a testament to the warmth and affection he brought into the lives of his family and friends. They will forever hold dear the memories of his infectious smile and generous spirit.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sister; Charles Alexander, Willie Alexander and Kathy Nichols.
Joel leaves to cherish his precious memories, his only son Raymond Alexander and five daughters, Barbara Alexander, Leslie (Desmi) Rice, Sheletha Darnell, Kerry (Wakeel) Peeples, Fenecia Marteen Caldwell. Eleven grandchildren, Allan Alexander, Justin (Nisia) Rice, Courtney Alexander, Kayla Alexander, Jarvis Rice, Audreece (Britney) Johnson, Alexandria (Johnathan) Johnson, Colton Walker, Dennis Turner, Kendrick Darnell and Damien Parhams.
