It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sherolyn Denise Larkin, of Douglasville, who passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Sherolyn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was born on April 19,1943, the daughter of the late Emory Humphrey and Grace Harris Humphrey.
Sherolyn was a devoted mother and matriarch of her family. Her passion for family shined brightly throughout her life. She had the ability to bring family together and created opportunities for her loved ones to connect and celebrate. Sherolyn possessed a vibrant, bubbly personality that could transform any gathering into a joyous occasion. She had an infectious sense of humor and a love for dancing that captivated all who had the pleasure of witnessing it. She was also a proud lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, a sisterhood she cherished deeply.
Having traveled extensively, Sherolyn embraced the beauty of the world and shared her experiences with those around her. Her peaceful spirit resonated in every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Sherolyn’s enthusiasm for life and radiant energy could light up any room, making her an unforgettable presence at any occasion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lewis Larkin; her first husband, Charles M. Fletcher; daughter, Karen Fletcher; brothers, Gerald Humphrey and Raymond Dudley; sister, Fern Haynes; and nephew Christopher Dudley.
She is survived by her children, Melissa Kennedy of Douglasville, Tona Julian (Lester) of Detroit, Michigan, Charles Miles Fletcher of Detroit, Michigan and Stephanie Larkin Vaz of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Deborah Parham of Oak Park, Michigan, Sister in law Vivian and Richard Patton of Newport News, Virginia, and Valerie Dudley of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Kyla Fletcher, Charles Tyler Fletcher, Savannah Kennedy, Tafari Kennedy, Javier Vaz, and Xavier Vaz; and nieces and nephews, Dawn Humphrey, Wendy Parham, Scott Dudley, Medina Abdun-Noor, Ahmed Parham, and Madhi Parham, and a host of others to whom she loved.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
As we reflect on her remarkable journey and the impact she had on so many, we honor Sherolyn’s memory and celebrate a life well lived. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
