Uecker-Witt Funeral HomeJoel G. Kroll, 72, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at his residence with family by his side. He was born on June 16, 1953, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Clarence and Irene (Kohn) Kroll. He married Barbara Merkel on May 10, 2002, in Fond du Lac. Joel was a 1971 graduate of Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Joel had three careers in his life. He owned and operated his own barber shop, sold post frame buildings, and was a bartender at Friar Tucks in Fond du Lac until he suffered a stroke in 2004. Joel enjoyed traveling, golf, deer hunting, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. His daily enjoyment of listening to music while sitting in the sun on his patio was his “Happy Place.”
Joel is survived by his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Bridgett (Chris) Amadon of Fond du Lac, Meggan (Christopher) Jacks of Shawnee, KS, and Colleen (Alex) Kroll-Wright of Cudahy; one son, Trevor (Amy) Kroll of New Franken; nine grandchildren, Ben, Zach, Sam, and Maddie Amadon, Kora Jacks, Owen Wright, Nora, Lily, and Caleb Kroll; two sisters, Joan Reshke and Janelle (Wilmer) Mueller; one brother, Jeff (Linda) Kroll; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Irene; three sisters, Jalayne Kroll, Janice Achter, and Judy Schield; granddaughter, Grace Ann Kroll; and grandson, Wyatt John Jacks.
The visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00 at church. Entombment to follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, Joel’s wishes any memorials go to Holy Family Catholic Church or Aurora Hospice.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Aurora Hospice, especially the nurses, Erin and Kelly. We would also like to thank his caregivers, Judy and Arryanna, for their care and compassion.
