Richard K. “Dick” Schultz Sr., age 88, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born on January 8, 1938, in Fond du Lac, the son of Karl and Viola Schultz. Dick graduated from L.P. Goodrich High School in 1956, and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1956-62. He worked at Royal Brass/RB Royal from 1961 until retiring in 1998. Dick then moved to Phelps, WI, by his partner Gail Hanson. The distance between Phelps and Fond du Lac didn’t matter. He always came back to spend time with his family and if he was needed, he was always there. Whether it was the weather, the Packers, or the grandkids sports updates, the littlest phone conversations meant the most.

Dick was an avid Packers fan and season ticket holder for over 40 years. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, taking numerous trips out west where he loved it the most. Dick was a member of the Phelps Snowmobile Club where he enjoyed grooming over 40 miles of trails in Vilas County and also was on the Phelps Park Commission until 2025. Dick had a love of aviation, earned his private pilot’s license and even got the chance to fly the Goodyear Blimp at EAA. In his lifetime, Dick donated just short of 250 pints of blood, showing how generous he truly was. There is nothing in this world that was too much for Dick or that he wasn’t willing to try. Dick was a jack of all trades and could rig up anything. He exemplified living life to the fullest.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Sandy (Rick) Rademann; grandchildren, Brock (Cassie) Rademann, Brittney (Nate) Siedschlag; daughter-in-law, Debbie Schultz; grandchildren, Meghan (Ryan) Amundson, Holly (fiancé Kyle Templin) Schultz; great-grandsons, Blayn, Bryce, Kobe, and Maverick; first great-granddaughter due in June; brother, Tom (Dawn) Schultz; sister-in-law, Debby Schultz; and other relatives, Jim and Rosie Neumann, Susie and Dan May, and David and Mary Rose Neumann; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Andrew and Rick; infant grandson, Mitchell Schultz; brother, Bob Schultz; sisters, Barbara Jean, Sue, and Pat Schultz; his former wife, Kathy Neumann, and her siblings, John (Sue) Neumann Jr, Nancy (Don) Scheid.

Cremation has taken place and private family interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
