Joel Peveler Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah Bradford Peveler; son, James Peveler II (Jessica); daughter, Amberle' Peveler; five grandchildren, Isabel Bauer, Jenna Peveler, James Peveler III, Henry Heath, and Magnolia Benson; siblings, Ella Welcher, Carla Dunaway, and Willard Peveler; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

I search occasionally for looking for people that I know. Today I came across Joel's obituary. I was in the Navy, in NAS Memphis with Joel; in fact I spent Christmas with your family, attending Christmas services at your church. It was one of the best Christmases that I ever observed.
I am saddened to hear about the passing of Joel. May he RIP and arise in glory to be with Jesus for eternity.

He was Santa Claus. Everyone was so excited when he came home on leave. When he retired, he brought home Amberle and she was my favorite gift. Another cousin to love.
As an adult, he always made my life easy, somehow. He was a willing ear, a recommendation, or someone to just make bad stuff not seem insurmountable.
I'm 52 years old. But I never took a trip, experienced something new, or embarked on an adventure he didn't know about, or say ...Take me with you. He loved adventure.
I'll always take you with me, Uncle Joey.
