Joel E. Quint

Hodgdon – Joel E. Quint, 61, passed away unexpectedly on October 16th, 2025. Joel was born in Houlton on March 17, 1964, the son of Lewis "Louie" and Lucia Quint.
Joel made his mark early in life, establishing his own business, Joel Quint Construction, before the age of 21. He excelled in his career and was a skilled heavy equipment operator. During the off-season, he drove 18-wheelers all over the country delivering goods. He'd use his CB radio scouting for "smokies" and "bears," letting his fellow truckers know under his CB handle, "Animal," a name he earned from his family and friends due his high-energy and willingness to do just about anything. He was a true outdoorsman, spending a significant portion of his life walking in the woods hunting, scouting for antlers, and spotting great fishing spots. He loved to hunt and fish, going for jeep rides, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, spending summers at the lake, and the fall at his hunting camp in Haynesville. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was the life of the party and will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
He is survived by his mother, Lucia Quint of Hodgdon; his life partner, Maggie Chasse of Hodgdon; sister, Tammy Quint (Chris) of Hodgdon; brother, Lenny Quint (Dedra) of Hodgdon; sister, Lisa Brawn (Lee) of Brunswick; his children, Ashley Quint of Linneus; Casey Barton (James) of Cary; Daniel "DJ" Quint of Linneus; Makenzie Chasse (Ryann) of Houlton; Lacey Dunlop of Bangor, and Dylan Finnemore of Presque Isle; 12 grandchildren, Brooklyn, Addison, Hannah, Davinee, Skye-Lynne, Charlie, Naudia, Jace, Brynlee, Rylee, Everleigh and Landon; special friends Dan D., Jared K., Mike M., Nick M, Pat T., Ryann B.; and his beloved dog, Sheena, that was always by his side. He was predeceased by his father, Louie.
Friends may call from 11am to 1pm Thursday October 23, 2025, at Bowers Funeral Home in Houlton with service being held at 1pm. A committal service will be held after the service at Hodgdon Cemetery with a reception being held at the Linneus Snosports Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
