Joel Rishty, a beloved father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023, surrounded by the warmth of his daughters, brothers, and his best friend. Joel's life was a testament to the bonds of family, the power of resilience, and the joy of shared moments.
A proud graduate of the University of Maryland, Joel's journey in the world of furniture sales began at the age of 15, forging a path that would eventually lead him to become a highly respected figure in the industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Joel's zest for life was evident in his passions. Music resonated deeply with him and those he surrounded himself with. He enthusiastically took on the role of booking bands when he was younger and shared his love for classic rock with his daughters. Joel's love for travel spanned his entire life, whether it be spontaneous adventures or carefully planned family trips, he approached the world with open arms and an insatiable curiosity.
Central to his world were his cherished family and friends. Joel's ability to connect people forged lifelong friendships, enriching the lives of many. His daughters Abby and Alex were his everything, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and shared their excitement for every endeavor. Joel's regard for family was boundless, and his final resting place will be alongside his father, grandparents, aunt, uncles, and other beloved relatives.
Ocean City, Maryland, held a special place in his heart, serving as the setting for countless cherished memories throughout his entire life.
Joel was not only a lover of life but a fighter in every sense. His battle against liver disease showcased his strong spirit and determination. Until his final day, he faced his challenges head-on, inspiring those around him with his courage and resilience.
On Wednesday, August 16, we will gather to remember Joel.
