Joel Salinas, Jr., a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, in Orange Grove, Texas, at the age of 30. Born on August 8, 1994, in Harlingen, Texas, Joel quickly became known for his kind-hearted nature and infectious smile that lit up every room he entered.
Joel had a passion for life that was evident in his many interests and pursuits. He embraced the thrill of working, found joy in the intensity of boxing, football games, and relished moments spent immersed in video games. His love for the outdoors reflected his adventurous spirit, and he often cherished time spent surrounded by nature. Joel easily made friends and enjoyed creating memories with them, and he particularly treasured the moments spent with his family.
He is survived by his father, Joel Salinas, Sr., and his mother, Priscilla Ortiz. His spirit lives on through his sister, Samantha (Daniel) Trevino, and his cherished niece, Athena Rose Garibay, as well as his nephew, Daniel Flores. Joel’s love for family extended to his grandmothers, Juanita De La Paz and Noemi Salinas, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and dear friends. His grandfathers, Eloy De La Paz and Felipe Salinas, preceded him in death. He was also a devoted companion to his pets, Strawberry, Gordas, Kilo, and Chip, who brought him countless moments of joy.
As we remember Joel, we honor not only his love for family and friends but also his unwavering desire to help those around him. His beautiful smile, kind-hearted demeanor, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joel’s family will receive condolences on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Treviño Funeral Home Alice, 120 E. Front St., from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 PM that evening and Joel’s services will conclude in the chapel.
