Joel was born April 4, 1978 to Tom and Kathy Smith. Joel found the love of his life, Danielle, and married her on August 7, 1998. They had 4 children together. He loved spending time with his family; his favorite was to beat us all at "Uno". Joel was a master machinist at Freeport McMoran in Morenci, where we relocated in 2009. He was fun and goofy and loved to laugh. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Joel was loved by so many people, he will be missed dearly.
Joel was preceded in death by: his son, Andrew Smith; parents, Kathy and Tommy Smith; grandparents, Anita Smith, Eton Smith, Faye Scherz, and Robert Scherz; and his uncle, Mike Scherz.
Joel is survived by: his wife, Danielle; his children, Jaden Smith, Lillian Smith, and Isabelle Smith; his sister, Stephanie Wetl (Jace), of Indiana; his mother-in-law, Rhonda Voboril, of Nebraska; and many aunts and uncles.
