Joel was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on 6/14/1977.
Beloved son of Damaris Montero of Phoenix, AZ and Michael W. Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is survived by his brother, Sam D. Smith.
Joel graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Indiana in 1995.
Joel was a faithful member of St Paul Roman Catholic Parish in Phoenix, AZ, Arizona Society of Maria SS Lauretana, and a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
He is a devout Catholic in recovery, loved helping others, and always strengthening his walk with Christ through his Catholic faith. Funeral services will be held at St Paul Roman Catholic Church, October 11, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
