He was born in Waycross to Joey Brandon Nelson and Leighshan Patricia Thompson Edwards. He was a 2025 graduate of Ware County High School where he was a member of the 2022 Ware County Gator State Champion Football Team. He had formerly worked with Kroger and Walmart in Waycross.
He is survived by his mother, Leighshan Edwards (Tribeyon) of Waycross; his father, Joey Brandon Nelson of Minneola, FL; his siblings, Jonah Brayden Nelson, King Edwards, Kawhi Edwards, Markayla Edwards, Rhianna Daniels, and Da'Ziyah Daniels; maternal grandmother, Nova Thompson of Waycross; paternal grandmother, Jennifer Wells of Orlando; maternal grandfather, Jody Thompson of Waycross; great grandfather, Vonnie Wells of Waycross; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (July 18, 2025) at the Ware County Performing Arts Center. Burial will follow in Waresboro Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock.

My condolence to the family I wasn't around Joey that much, but I do know that he brought nothing but joy and love to his grandmama Nova. Upon Joy's birth he filled and empty space in Nova's heart and it was nothing like Joey. Nova showered Joey with joy,love and affection and there was nothing on this green earth that she wouldn't do for Joey and then came along the others and she showed them the same love and joy . Joey was her child, her son and thank God for bringing Joey into Nova's life.
