With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Johan Marroquin, who left us on October 26, 2024, at the age of 18. Born on January 27, 2006, in Chicago, Illinois, Johan was a beloved son to Cindy Lucumi and Carlos Marroquin, and a protective and loving brother to Ian, Jayden, and Destiny. His greatest joy was being a father to his cherished daughter, Desiree Rose Marroquin and beloved partner to Breyana Cansino.Johans life was marked by his gentle strength, fierce loyalty, and a deep love for his family. His protective spirit, especially towards his mom, spoke to his sweet and supportive nature. Known as a wonderful family man, Johan was always there for those he lovedwhether as a dependable brother, a caring father, or a friend with a heart open to everyone. He was hardworking and determined, qualities that shone through in all he did.Fashion was a passion for Johan, who had an eye for style and took pride in dressing his daughter in sparkly dresses that reflected his fun-loving spirit. He also believed in the power of crystals, incorporating their energies into his life as a source of strength and positivity. Music was woven into the fabric of Johans life, with rap being a special love that brought joy and inspiration to his days. A talented cook, he often brought people together through meals, music, and laughter.Johans intelligence and well-spoken nature allowed him to connect easily with others, making him a cherished friend and relative to many. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family: his parents, Cindy Lucumi and Carlos Marroquin; his daughter, Desiree Rose, and her mother, Breyana Cansino; his grandparents, Jorge (Lydia) Lucumi, the late Marilu Diaz (Alberto Huallpa), and Carlos Herrera; and his cousins, Elisa (Luis Barron) Lucumi, Michael Barron, and Rachel Barron. He is also remembered lovingly by his aunts and uncles, Jennifer Lucumi, Michael Diaz, Giovani Canas, Sandra Burive, and Marisol Segura, along with countless friends and relatives whose lives he touched.Visitation will be held at Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home on November 7th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass to honor Johans life will be celebrated on Friday, November 8th, at 10:00 am at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL, 60016.Johans spirit will forever remain with us, and his memory will live on in the love he gave and the joy he shared.
