Johanna M. Sproat, 97, Marion, passed away in her home at 5:19 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Thursday, December 15, 1927, to James and Ottley (Brown) Sproat.
Johanna graduated from Marion High School and worked for 42 years at RCA. She was very artistic and hard-working. She enjoyed knitting and painting. She loved golf; so much that she even put a miniature golf course in her backyard. She used to really enjoy going to Rosie's Little Italy. Above all, Johanna loved her family, especially her grandkids. She had numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, as well.
Johanna is survived by her son, David (Nicki) Spencer; daughter, Brenda (the late Maurice) Oyler; and grandchildren, Barry Spencer and Cali Hiles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ottley Louise Sproat; and sisters, Cena, Mary, Margaret, Dorothy, and Roberta; brothers, William, James, John, and Russell.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service to celebrate Johanna's life will be held at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
