Johanna C. Stachyra, 86, of Exeter, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Duryea, Jan. 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Kolesar Waszkiewicz.
She was a graduate of Exeter High School. Johanna had worked for the Consolidated Cigar Co., West Pittston, Star Stitching, Exeter, and retired from Pride Furniture, Exeter.
Johanna enjoyed gardening, canning her own vegetables, baking and cooking big meals for her family on the holidays.
She loved being outside, taking pride in her flowers, especially her azalea bushes, peony bushes and lilac trees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew E. Stachyra, July 31, 2007; and sister, Marie Oliver, on June 29, 2017.
Surviving are her children, Andrew and his wife, Deborah Ann, Exeter; David and his forever partner, Stacy, Kingston Twp.; Johanna, Bloomfield, N.J.; and Mary Lynn and her partner, Rob, Exeter; three lovely granddaughters, Nicole Stachyra, Violet Stachyra, both of Exeter; and Isabella, Bloomfield, N.J.; brothers, Michael, Exeter; and Daniel, Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.
As per her wishes, there will no public viewing.
