John Adams Obituary

John Adams
John Patrick Adams "Prez," 67, of Naugatuck, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 19, 1958, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, John was the middle son of George and Jean (Murray) Adams. He studied plumbing at Bullard Havens Technical High School, laying the foundation for a lifetime of providing for those he loved.
John dedicated 18 years to Sikorsky Aircraft as an HVAC maintenance worker. Known affectionately as "Prez" , He was proud of his work and the friendships he built there. Whether through his steady presence, his sense of humor, or his willingness to lend a hand, people simply recognized he was a great man.
John loved the outdoors; hunting trips with friends and time spent fishing brought him peace, but his greatest joy was always his family.
He was an amazing "Pop Pop." He treasured working in the yard with his grandsons, JJ and Adam, teaching them through example and steady patience. He loved taking his granddaughter, Kiersten, on snack runs in his Mustang - small traditions that became treasured memories. Above all, John was deeply devoted to his wife, Jo Ann. His love for her was constant, protective, and enduring.
John is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann (Froilan) Adams; his daughters, Jinelle (Bradley) Estes and Johnna (Justin) Granton; and his cherished grandchildren, Kiersten Braun, JJ Granton, and Adam Granton. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends, who will miss his steady presence. Family and friends will be received at Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour, CT 06483, on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 170 Coen Street, Naugatuck, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10am. Burial will be private. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.millermacarifh.com .
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's memory to Friends of the Shelton Animal Shelter, 11 Brewster Lane Shelton, CT 06484.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses at Masonicare Hospice and to Dominique at Smilow Cancer Center for their exceptional care and kindness.
In honor of John, his family encourages everyone to prioritize cancer screenings and early detection - a message he would want shared.

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Prez was a true gentleman. His greatest joy was regaling me with his times with his granddaughter. He will be missed. I thoroughly enjoyed his company at work and when he came to visit for plants for his garden.

Dear Jinelle and Johnna, your families, and your Mom,

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved Dad. Please know that you are in my thoughts during this very difficult time. I'll be praying for all of you, with special prayers for your Mom.

While I didn't know your Dad directly, he must have been very special to have such kind and wonderful daughters. And, from the stories you have shared, your children/his grandchildren were blessed to have him in their lives.

With sincere sympathy,

Joan J.

to Johnny's wife ,kids and grandkids my sincere condolences . I enjoyed working with Johnny . He was one of the first people i got to know when i started working at sikorsky's back in 2008. I came in as a vendor back then . Later on i was hired into sikorsky's. Johnny was so glad for me . He was a super guy . Loved talking with him. And i always kept in touch with him and checked up on him from time to time to see how he was doing. I am going to miss sending text messages to him on the holidays. Its funny because i would usually be the one to send a text first but sometimes Johnny would beat me and say ha i got you first . He made me laugh . My you RIP my long time friend . you fought to fight now it is time to rest. Till we all meet again !!
