John Joseph Alexa

It is with heavy heart to announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, and friend, John Alexa, age 70 of Dracut. He passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born and raised in Lowell.
Later, he made a home in California, Germany, Ohio, then back to Lowell. He loved spending time with family and friends, living in his lake house, working on his food cart while meeting wonderful people and telling stories about his family's past events. He also enjoyed traveling to Ohio to help his sister, working the food cart at county fairs.
John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jacklyn Alexa and Matthew Mellinger; his companion, Cheryl Prawitz; his niece and nephew in-law, Tina and Josh McCullough; his grand-nephew and grand-niece, Dillon and Caitlyn; and his brother and brother in-law, Richard Alexa and Tom O'Shaughnessy. He is also survived by numerous family members in the Lowell area and dear local friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theresa Gudgell and John Alexa, his stepfather Jim Gudgell, his brother James Alexa, and his sister Catherine Alexa.
His funeral services will be held privately.
