John L. Algier, born in 1949, of Chester County, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.

He was the husband of Carole Algier in an idyllic marriage of 43 years plus the previous 9 years encompassed an amazing true love story totaling 52 years.

John was the son of the late John L. and Doris Colley Algier, and preceded in death by sister Janet Davis. He is survived by sister Lauren Ziegler (Joseph), and brother David Algier (Cindy).

John was an amazing husband and friend. His infectious laugh, amazing wit, ability to bring laughter and joy to all, along with his deep loyalty to friends and family, are just a few reasons he was so loved and will be missed. John had amazing engineering and artistic skills with an inherent eye for detail. His love of rock and roll music made him one of the lucky attendees at Woodstock.

John worked as a Civil Engineer, with a Mechanical Engineer degree, in his early career but found his most joyous role in his partnership with wife Carole, in their business, Design by Algier, for over 25 years. His expertise in building custom cornices, publishing of two Window Treatments in Art Glass – Volume I and II Pattern Books, along with art stained glass collaboration with Carole, are unmatched.

Interment will be a private ceremony at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
