John T. Allen Sr.

John T. Allen, Sr., 91, of Circle Drive, passed away at home on Friday, November 7, 2025. Born in Rome on August 10, 1934, he was the son of Clarence and Caroline Pitoniak Allen. A resident of Oneida since 1963, John was educated in Rome schools. He married Patricia Ward in St. Patrick's Church on June 29, 1963. Mrs. Allen died on November 29, 2005. Prior to his retirement, John was employed with Coleman Brothers as a truck driver and mechanic and had also been employed with Red Star. He was a member of the Order of the Owls, Oneida Nest1606, Loyal Order of the Moose, Oneida Chapter 421, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. John was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by: son, Michael P. Allen of Camilla, Georgia; one granddaughter, Alyssa Allen and several siblings. He was predeceased by a son, John T. "Tom" Allen Jr. on March 5, 2024, and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Allen in 2022. In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no public services or visitation. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
