John Allgood, age 76, of Gallatin, entered into rest on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Springfield, Tennessee. John was born on April 3, 1949, in Springfield, Tennessee.
As a young man, John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was later awarded a Purple Heart. Following his military service, John had a career truck driving, which he enjoyed very much.
Outside of work, John was an evangelist and pursued jail ministry as well. Although John was known to stand steadfast in his ways, he was also a huge cut-up and fun to be around.
He always enjoyed the pizzas his nephews brought him.
Although John will be deeply and dearly missed, his family finds peace he is with the Lord and reunited with the love of his life, Cathy.
John Wayne Allgood is survived by his siblings, Bill Allgood, Ray Dean Allgood (Judy), Martha Jean Smith, and Mable Tholl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Cathy Allgood; father, William Thomas Allgood; mother, Nettie (Payne) Allgood; as well as his siblings, Thomas Allgood, Thelma Edison, Fred Allgood, Harold Allgood, Pauline Tucker, Betty Ardito, and Gladys Miller.
Visitation with the Allgood family will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and will continue on Saturday, December 20, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Military Funeral Honors will be rendered at 4:00 P.M. from the chapel of Crestview Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service. Pastor Donnie Bryant will be officiating. Burial in Crestview Memory Gardens will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.
