John “Mo” Allen Anderson, 76, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 16, 2025, after an extended illness.
Born on August 9, 1948, in Stephens County, Georgia, John was the son of Geneva Allen Anderson. He dedicated 46 years of service to Georgia Power Company, beginning his career as a lineman apprentice straight out of high school and working his way up to line supervisor.
John is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Anderson; daughter, Lisa Hansford; son, Kevin (Katie) Anderson; and grandchildren, Austin Hansford, Allison (Hagan) Wilbanks, Andrew Hansford, Peyton Anderson, Reese Anderson, Logan Anderson, Bailey Anderson and Millie Anderson. He is also survived by his brother, Bob (Debbie) Anderson, and sister, Brenda Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Anderson, and his brother, Daniel Anderson.
Visitation will take place at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West on Friday, February 21, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at 1211 Jimmie Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA. A graveside service will be held afterward at Oconee Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be DT Anderson, Logan Anderson, Andrew Hansford, Austin Hansford, Weldon Herron, and Hagan Wilbanks.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who reached out during John’s illness—whether through a visit, a meal, a card, or a kind word. Your love and support meant the world to him and to us. Additionally, we are deeply grateful to all the precious nurses and caregivers who provided compassionate care during this time.
John will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for his family, and the many lives he touched throughout the years.
