John Mackinley Anderson, 61, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Meritus Medical Center.

Born Tuesday, April 7, 1964, in Germany, he was the son of the late Albert Eugene Anderson, Sr. and the late Joan Lucile (Hewitt) Anderson.

John was a graduate from North Hagerstown High School, class of 1982.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of 2nd Class Private.

He later became employed as a plumber.

John loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He loved to make people laugh. He was an avid Redskins fan, and enjoyed grilling, camping, fishing and hunting. He had a sweet tooth, was a history buff, going on adventures and the Unknown Mysteries of the World. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Margaret J. Anderson, daughter, Amanda Rose (Charles) Clipp, daughter, Amber Jean Anderson, granddaughter, Emmalynn Rose Clipp, granddaughter, Wrenley Mae Clipp, sister, Susie (Charles) Keckler, sister, Carol (Mike) McKinney, brother, Albert (Lidia) Anderson, Jr., brother, Robert (Trish) Anderson and mother in law Julia Fletcher.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, September 8, 2025, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
