John Arthur “Foot” Craigg, age 67, of Malvern passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his home. He was born January 16, 1958 under the sign of Capricorn at 2:45 a.m., on a Thursday in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He views himself as an everyday type of person. He enjoys gardening, planting, and he is a lover of flowers, especially roses and fruit trees.
Being that of the third generation of the late John Willie and Amy Ferrell Craigg, and of the late Deacon Grant and Elnora Fort Dawn—all of Dallas County, Arkansas.
Brother Craigg is the third child, the second son born to the late Leandrew and Annie Mae Dawn Craigg. He graduated in 1976 from Sparkman High School and spent four years in the Army National Guard before being Honorably Discharged from the field of Transportation in 1980. He immediately went to Vo-Tech School and graduated with a certification in Business Education after one year. He later received an Associate Degree in Fine Arts and Photography from Garland County Community College in 1987.
As a child, he was saved and baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Sparkman. He worked and retired as a laundry supervisor for Beverly Enterprise, formerly known as Arkansas Healthcare in Hot Springs.
Brother Craigg was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Algie Ford and Johnny Lee Craigg.
Survivors include his siblings, James (Thelma) Dawn and Maenora Eason, both of Dallas, Texas, Johnnie Mae Craigg Matlock of Malvern, and James “Duck” Craigg of Arkadelphia; special niece, Amy Matlock Crain of Malvern; his aunts, Beatrice Ransom, Jerry Williams, and Louise Dawn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his First Baptist Family, and friends.
Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Reverend L.A. Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sparkman. Pallbearers are Latron Matlock, Ross Matlock, Cory Matlock, Rodney Brown, J.R. Oliver, and Clifford Jones. Arrangements are by Smith Family Funeral Home-Arkadelphia/Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel, www.smithfamilycares.com.
