John L. Bain, Jr, age 90, of Brooksville Florida passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2025.

He was born in Riceville, TN.

Survived by: Wife - Jean Bain. Daughters - Lore' Bain and Rene' Bain (John Mounger), son -David Rowland (Esther). Brother – Taylor Bain (Lena). Five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Heather House Clubhouse in Cloverleaf Farms Brooksville on August 30, 2025 at 12:00 noon.

John was born and raised in the beautiful hills of Tennessee, where he learned to drive a tractor at the age of 4. In high school he wrote for the then small-town paper, everything from the local sports to news. At the age of 19 he joined the United States

Marine Corps, stationed in Camp Pendleton CA, earning 4 medals. Upon Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps, he resided in Hollywood CA for a time, eventually moving to Tampa FL and met his soon to be wife, Jean, where they lived with their three children until moving to Brooksville in 1971.

John and Jean led an adventurous life. John ran marathons including the Gasparilla Classic and Flatlanders. He served as Commander of American Legion Post 99 in Brooksville.

They loved their Goldwing and took many trips including the mountains, Key West, Midwest and many other places. John and Jean learned to clog and danced with a group for events including in Jacksonville FL at the Capital. They attended the Iditarod

in Nome, Alaska and also traveled, visiting Scotland, cruising to Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. After retirement from Hilti Fastening Systems, they packed it up, sold the house, purchased a motor coach and traveled the country for five years. They then eventually settled back in Brooksville, where Jean picked up her accordion and joined a band, with John becoming her biggest fan and roadie (he thoroughly loved this).

His biggest accomplishment in this lifetime was being a devoted and loving husband of 63 years to Jean, they were inseparable.

His "dash" includes much more. He said many times that life was, even the bad, a good adventure. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
