JOHN RAYMOND BARNEY

John Raymond Barney, 93, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, with his loving wife, Gail, by his side.

John was born on January 18, 1932, in New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Barney, who preceded him in death. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, dedication, and loyalty-qualities that guided him throughout his life.

After graduating high school, John proudly entered the United States Army, serving his country with honor. Following his military service, he spent many years as a foundry worker in metal manufacturing, a demanding profession that reflected his strength, resilience, and strong work ethic.

John was a devoted member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Sebastian, Florida, where his faith provided comfort and guidance. Outside of work and church, he found joy in motorcycle riding, especially his beloved Harley-Davidson, and took great pride in his gun collection. These passions reflected his independent spirit and appreciation for craftsmanship and tradition.

Above all else, John was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Gail Frances Leach; his sons, John R. Barney Jr., Joseph Barney, and Christopher Minett. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast love for his family, and the life he built through dedication and perseverance.
