John Barone of East Fallowfield, PA formerly of Upper Darby, peacefully passed away while surrounded by his family. He had been battling cancer since November 2020.
He was son of the late Pasquale and Marie (née Oriol) Barone of Upper Darby.
John leaves behind his beloved wife of 29 years, Denise (née Barnaba); daughters, Taylor Sanchez (Leonel) and Olivia Barone; granddaughter, Brisa Sanchez and grandson-to-be Luca Sanchez; siblings, Michael Barone (Bonnie), Maria Baker (David) and Marguerite Nestoras (Tom); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Barone.
John retired as a captain after a 28 year career with the PA Dept of Corrections. He was an avid sports fan with a love for all sports, but especially the Minnesota Vikings and New York Yankees. He had a vast knowledge of sports statistics, was oddly good at Jeopardy, and was the king of quick wit and sarcasm. He enjoyed all genres of music with a special love of the The Beatles. John had a great sense of humor. He had a fear of bugs but a true love of all animals. He was a volunteer at Lamancha Animal Rescue, where he spent his Saturday mornings. He enjoyed many family vacations, especially to Disney with his girls. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and was so proud of his family. He was the best of the best. He will be missed immensely and never forgotten.
