John James Barranco, age 92 of Oak Brook, formerly of Chicago and Morton Grove. Beloved husband of Joan M. Barranco, nee Mertes; loving father of Linda (David) Rektorski, Bob (Massiel) Barranco, John (Kathi) Barranco; devoted grandfather of Stephanie (Joe) Winter, Lauren Reeps, Nicole (Mike) Toth, Trisha (Michael) Ruggles, Sara Barranco, Nicholas Barranco, Dominic Barranco, and Madison Barranco; great-grandfather of Alexis, Cameron, Mikey, Natalie, Max, Mikayla, and Michael; fond brother of Bill (the late Patricia) Barranco, and the late Marlene (Jim) Schurr; uncle of many nieces and nephews, relative and friend of many.
President of Rock Falls Leasing Corporation, formerly Freeport Fast Freight. Long time advocate for the trucking and transportation industry, serving as Past-President of the Central Motor Freight Association (now Illinois Trucking Association), and affiliated with several other industry groups and associations. Faithful brother of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Joseph Stroot Council. Dedicated Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
