John Sherwood Bauer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on April 1, 1951, in Elyria, Ohio, John was a proud Navy veteran and co-founder of Aspen Financial Group, Ltd. He was a 1969 graduate of Elyria High School and received a master's degree from Baldwin Wallace University.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Alfred "Bud" Bauer, and his nephew Joseph Zalka. He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 54 years, Madalyn Bauer (Maiher); his children, John Paul Bauer (Maria) and Bonnie Bauer Morris; his cherished grandchildren, Mackenzie Bauer, Hannah Bauer, Zachary Bauer, Jackson Morris, and Margaret Morris; and his sisters, Jody Zalka (Joseph) and Jayne Carlson (Robert).
Known for his love of cars and boats, John found great joy driving his Porsche with Madalyn by his side. His passion for adventure took him and Madalyn around the world, creating treasured memories together. He often vacationed with his grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts. He was also a devoted supporter of his grandchildren, rarely missing a soccer or basketball game. He took great pride in watching all of them grow and succeed.
A Mass to celebrate John's life will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Holy Martyrs Church, 3100 Old Weymouth Rd, Medina, OH 44256.
