John Bebo Jr.

John Bebo, Jr., 77 of Avella, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, with his daughter Darcy Anna and grandson Mason Garrett by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Florence (Resnick, Askenase) Bebo. John was born in Washington Hospital a son of the late John Sr. and Anna Lupco Bebo. He grew up in Atlasburg, graduating in 1965 from Union High School, Burgettstown. John attended Clarion State College until 1968 when he joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the destroyer USS Borie (DD704) and was honorably discharged on March 10, 1974, as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. John took great pride in his military service and later served as commander of his local American Legion. John had a deep love for classic cars and enjoyed collecting model replicas. He was an avid fan of Doo-wop music and shared a birthday with one of his favorite artists, Elvis Presley. As a devoted member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Avella, he rarely missed a Sunday Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and John Bebo, Sr.; and his stepson, Daniel Askenase. John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Florence Bebo; daughter, Darcy Anna Bebo; brother, James (Shirley) Bebo; grandson, Mason Garrett Bebo; step-granddaughter Carrie Askenase; niece, Elizabeth (Andrew) Lohn; great-nieces, Virginia, Juliann and Mary Lohn; his ex-wife, Sharon Moore Bebo; stepsons, Samuel (Deanna Schaefers) Askenase and Matthew (Kelly) Askenase. Inurnment with Navy military honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
