John Bell entered eternal life on Friday, August 22, 2025, due to a short battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 30 at Sterling Four Square Church. Pastor Ben Hackbarth will officiate the service along with Rocky Vass, a family friend. There will be a dinner held at the Knights of Columbus following the service.

John was born August 18,1958 to Arthur and Peggy (Lawson) Bell in Sterling, CO. He attended school at Iliff and Caliche until the 10th grade. After leaving school he went to work in the oil fields. John married Loretta (Bretz) on December 10, 1976. They had three children, Kami, Sherry, and Arty. He continued to work in the oil fields until the late 80's. He then worked for Logan County Bridge and Crew Department until 2001. In 2002, he went to work on the family farm with Uncle Leonard and son Arty until he retired in 2018. He continued to drive trucks and help Arty out occasionally during harvest season. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grand daughters. He loved watching old westerns, sports and game shows.

He was preceded in death by wife Loretta, father Art, uncles Leonard and Jim, and other numerous aunts and uncles.

John is survived by mother Peggy Bell, sister Sandra Spahn husband Pete, daughters Kami Meraz and Sherry Bell; son Arty Bell and wife Sara; grandchildren Alysa Vierow husband Spencer, Matthew Meraz, Zachary Hawley, Landon Bell, Brayden Saenz, Avery Bell, and Leah Bell; great-grand daughters Karsyn, Bailey and Madilyn Vierow; in-laws Helen Huey husband Tom, William Bretz, Adam Bretz and several nieces and nephews.
