John Arthur Benjamin, was born on April 1, 1948, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, at the age of 77.

A dedicated and hardworking individual, John devoted three decades of his life as a firefighter, proudly serving in Florida and in his last community of Mills River North Carolina with courage and commitment. Along with his fire service, he also to apply his skills and knowledge as a computer technician and did that work many years, becoming a valued member of every team he joined. His dedication also extended beyond his professional career, as he was an active member of the Mills River Volunteer Fire Department.

John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John Sr. and Bertha Benjamin. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rae Ann Benjamin, who stood by his side throughout his life and provided unwavering support. He leaves behind one son, Raymond Benjamin, and a cherished granddaughter, Shelby Benjamin, who brought immense joy to his later years. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Maurie Puhlman, and her husband Bernard, his nephew Edward Puhlman, and a great-niece, Tiffany.

John's steadfast devotion to his family, friends, and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His legacy of service and kindness will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
