John S. Bingel, 84 of Cook Street, Dannemora NY, passed away on Sunday June 30, 2025 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh NY with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Plattsburgh NY on July 26 1940, the son of the late John and Helen (Suhocki) Bingel.
John graduated From Lyon Mountain High School and Canton ATC. He worked for EW Thompkins in Boston MA and continued at Hulbert Brothers in Plattsburgh NY.
Retiring after over 40 years with them.
John was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Brenda and his parents.
John is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Stephen and April Bingel of Plattsburgh and Tom and Kelli Bingel of Dannemora, his grandchildren Zachary, Samuel and Veda Bingel, his sister Judy and Bill Bessette of Chazy Lake.
His brother Robert and Shirley Ann Bingel of Lyon Mountain and his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Gerald Patterson of Rochester, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was Secretary of Merry Go Round hunting club for 50 years, Town of Dannemora accessor for many years and served on the town board of Dannemora. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was a member of the Lyon Mountain American Legion and Lyon Mountain Miners Museum.
He was a life long NY Yankees fan, never missing a televised game. He enjoyed travel with Brenda, to many Caribbean destinations.
He was a frequent fan at his grandson's games and particularly enjoyed supporting Zach play baseball and Sam play hockey. He
looked forward to his visits with his granddaughter Veda as she always held his affection with her lively conversation.
Calling hours will be held on Monday July 7, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of life will follow at the Adirondack Room at the Butcher Block.
Memorial donations may be offered to the Lyon Mountain Mining Museum.
