A memorial service for John Arnold Bishop, 68, of, Belton will be held at 2:00 PM , Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

John died Monday evening in Temple.

John was born June 11, 1956 in Deming, New Mexico, the son of Raymond Lee Bishop and Nellie Marie (Lewis) Bishop. He married Tina S. Thompson, June 27, 1981, in Killeen. He worked for several companies in central Texas including Jack Hilliard Distributing, McLane Southwest, GPS (Fikes) and R&L Carriers. He was a member of First Baptist Church Belton.

John was the hardest-working man, always putting his family first and making countless sacrifices so his wife, kids and grandkids could have the best life possible. He showed up for every event-always our biggest supporter. There wasn't much he couldn't fix or a question he didn't have an answer for. He had a deep love for learning and poured that curiosity into his many hobbies including knife-making, hunting, shooting, and everything to do with guns. He also loved cooking, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time outdoors. But more than anything, he loved being with his family. His presence, wisdom, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond Darrell Bishop.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Tina Bishop; three daughters, Jennifer Hoelscher (Jason), Kayla Preston (Kyle) and Taylor Adamson (James); two brothers Cecil Bishop and Stan Bishop; one sister-in-law Peggy Bishop; and nine grandchildren, Ryden, Beckett, Brayden, Ashlynn, Hudson, Emmy, Ford, Oliver and Wells.

As there will be no gravesite, we are requesting no flowers. If you would like to help the family, meals would be appreciated. The link is as follows: Meal Train
