John Wesley "Wes" Black, aged 49, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. Born on December 7, 1976, Wes grew into a man of great character and warmth, beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is survived by his father John Black and his step mother is Mary Ann Black. Also survived by his adoring son, Caden Black and daughter-in-law Tara, as well as his cherished grandchildren Brayden, Bentley, and Brynleigh Black. Wes was preceded in death by his loving mother, Terry Brantley, whose memory continued to be a guiding light in his life.
Wes was a skilled plumber by trade, a profession through which he not only fixed pipes but also built lasting relationships with his clients and colleagues. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his fellow workers and the broader community, as he was an active participant in local associations, where he generously shared his knowledge and time.
An avid outdoorsman, Wes found solace and joy in fishing, often seen at the break of dawn with his line cast into the tranquil waters, patiently awaiting the day's catch. His love for nature was paralleled by his passion for axe throwing, a hobby that showcased his impressive precision and focus. Wes was also known for his love of music, which he enjoyed at a volume that matched his larger-than-life personality.
Wes cherished spending time with his family and friends above all else. He had the remarkable ability to turn any gathering into a memorable event, filling the room with laughter and warmth. His talent for leatherwork was more than a pastime; it was an art form through which he expressed his creativity, crafting beautiful pieces that were as unique as he was.
Moreover, Wes had an exceptional knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. His hands, always ready to work, transformed everyday objects into treasures, leaving a piece of himself in every creation. This ability was a metaphor for his approach to life-seeing potential in everything and everyone, and nurturing it with patience and care.
As we bid farewell to Wes, we celebrate a life lived with gusto, kindness, and an unyielding spirit. His legacy is one of love, craftsmanship, and the joy of simple pleasures. Wes's memory will continue to inspire and comfort us, as his presence is felt in the ripple of the waters, the thrill of a well-thrown axe, the beat of a heartfelt song, and the laughter of his beloved grandchildren.
John Wesley Black's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and friendship, and though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever remain an integral part of the lives he touched.
