John M. "Wolfie" Blackburn

John M. "Wolfie" Blackburn, 72, of Dennis, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023, at his home.
He was born on October 23, 1950, in Parsons to Glen and Donna (Kirk) Blackburn. John grew up in Parsons and attended Labette County schools graduating from Labette County Community High School in 1968.
John worked for Parsons Auto Parts, Beachner, and Conrad Machinery in Pittsburg. In his retirement years he repaired lawn mowers for Howard Markley. He also owned and operated his own automotive repair shop in his garage.
John loved working in his garage, watching westerns and wrestling, going out to eat especially at Chicken Annie's and at Dos Frontera's. John was a member of the Dennis United Methodist Church. He was affectionately known by his family and friends as "Wolfie". He was simple man who loved spending time with his family and friends and was also an avid Kansas State Wildcats Fan. EMAW!!!
Wolfie was married to Janice Langston in 1977 for many years. They later divorced. He and Joy Good were married in January of 2011 at Miami, Oklahoma.
In addition to his wife, Wolfie is survived by two sons, Ryan Blackburn, and his wife, Cindy of Raymore, MO and Patrick Blackburn of Parsons, two daughters, Angela Boren, and her companion, Patrick Moore of Bel Aire and Linda Holding, and her husband, Randy of Columbus, his grandsons, Bentley Boren of Bel Aire, Jordan Thompson of Parsons, his granddaughter Katelyn Woods of Frontenac, many great-grandchildren, three brothers, Rick Blackburn, and his wife, Peggy of Canyon, TX, Randy Blackburn, and his wife, Christy of Scammon, and Charles Blackburn, and his wife, Jennifer of Parsons, his sister, Sandra Wiseman, and her husband, Jim of Muskogee, OK, his brother-in-law, Jason Langston, and his wife, Taffy of rural Parsons, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his faithful companion, "Sally". In addition to his parents, Wolfie was preceded in death by his nephew, Chase Langston.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis. The family will receive friends at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Sunday evening.
