John Boos Obituary

And a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana passed away on December 1st, 2023. He was born on May 7, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He resided in New Orleans for 49 years, then Diamondhead, Mississippi for 42 years with his second wife Barbara B Boos. He was a member at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Diamondhead, Ms. After his wife passed away, he moved to Franklinton, Louisiana to be close to family. As a child, he loved to draw, taking art lessons from an art professor in the French Quarter, and then worked as an artist for L. M. Berry Company advertising telephone yellow pages for several years. He also served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserve for 12 years. His first assignment was to the VF-821 Fighter Squadron and in 1951 assigned to Air Wing Staff 82 as an Aerial Photographer. He attended Delgado Community College at night to learn drafting. John was hired by Shell Oil in 1953 and worked doing mechanical, construction and geological drafting design. He was employed by Shell for over 33 years and spent most of his retirement years traveling, working outdoors, and loving his dog, Nova.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John L Boos Sr. and Mrs. Virgie Lemoyne Boos, brother Mr. Kenneth G. Boos, his first wife Shirley C. Arnett Boos of 23 years, his second wife Barbara B. Moore Boos of 41 years, and stepson Stephen R. Waychoff.

Daughter and Son-in-law: Janin M. Johnston and Wayne Johnston
Son and Daughter-in-law: Michael J. Boos Arnett and Kris Arnett
Son and Daughter-in-law: Keith G. Boos and Claudine Boos
Sister: Auerlie A. Clark
Grandchildren: John Bankston, Brandon Boos, Ashlie Maske, Fred Johnston, Robert Boos, Mikey Arnett, Alexsia Arnett, Lauren Jorge, and Brianna Jorge, Matthew Stewart, Joshua Stewart,
and numerous great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at Acy's Creek Baptist Church on December 8th at 11:00 AM with Elder David Barber officiating and son, Keith Boos.
