Verda Lea Dillon passed away February 19th 2026 in Covington, LA. She was born to Tom and Louise Mizell on September 20, 1951. Verda Lea was one of six children, grew up in Isabel, Louisiana where she raised her children and watched her family grow. Verda Lea was proud of her family, she was especially proud to be called great grand mother. Verda Lea faithfully served her community as a nurse at Highland Park Hospital before devoting herself to caring for her home and family. Verda Lea loved to "piddle" caring for her flower beds, and bird watching, she looked forward to watching the humming birds visit every year. For 59 years she and her husband Dennie built a life side by side. Their love was steady and enduring, strengthened by patience, faith, and a deep bond that carried them through life. Verda Lea carried a sweet smile, and a warm heart that loved whole heartly, that brought comfort to those around her. A woman who walked by faith, she lived as an example of, grace, kindness, and what it truly means to reflect the image of the Lord. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

Preceeded in death by: her mother Louise Mizell, father Hezzie "Tom" Mizell, sister Elverda Corkern, sister Inelda "Nell" Magee, brother Lavell "Red" Mizell, mother in law Janell Dillon, son in law Wayne Young, Great grand baby Zyler.

Survived by Husband Dennie D. Dillon, Daughters Tina (Ralph) Mckean, and Nancy Young. Grandchildren: Kaylie (James) Whittington, Chuck (Ariana) Jenkins, Lorne (Katie) Adams Jr, Gavin (Marissa) Adams. Great grand children: Gabrielle, Annabelle, Taysom, Tori, Eli, Brady, Branttlee, Brodee, Bronx, Rosalie, Isabella, Shylynn, Oliver, Ella, and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins.

Services at Crain funeral home in Franklinton, La Sunday Febuary 22nd 2026 visitation 10am-2pm Funeral services at 2pm, graveside services to follow at Mizell Cemetery.
