John Norman Brafford, best known as "John Boy", but his favorite name by far was "Papa", age 69, of Madison, OH., passed away on Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at University Hospital Geneva. John was born on January 23rd, 1956, in South Webster, Ohio, to mother, Delores Joann (Maynard) Brafford and his adoptive Father Lonnie Brafford. He graduated from Madison High School in 1974. John then enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served 2 years as an Aviation Fire Control Technician. Shortly after his service to our country, John married his love Debora (Juist) Brafford on June 21st, 1976, in Painesville, Ohio. He had a passion for working on his semi-truck, he could fix anything and his girls always knew their dad was a phone call away and he would be there to help them. He loved going out to breakfast, and one of his most favorite past times was cheering on his grandchildren at their games. John was loving known to his family as Papa the Man, the Myth, the Legend! John is survived by his cherished wife, Debora Brafford, his beloved children, Lynn (Patrica), Brandy, Danielle (Steve), and Amanda, his grandchildren, Hannah, Madelyn, Brayson, Nicky, Sophia, and Mia. John also leaves behind his siblings, Jerry (Jeanne), Marilyn, Cheryl, Terry, Gary, and Marietta and his nieces, Nicole (Travis), Massie, and Jody Brafford. He is preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Delores, and by his grandson, Dylan Steinmetz. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, May 30th, 2025, from 5-7pm at Lake Erie Cremation, 1500 Harpersfield Rd., Geneva, OH., 44041. www.lakeeriecrematory.com. 440-361-2273.

Praying for the healing of a family whose father, grandfather, and uncle loved so much. Know that his love and sprit live on in all of you. Though I never met him, he looks like he loved life!
