John P. Branca, Sr.
On March 13, 2023 of Deptford. Age 100. Beloved husband of the late Stella (nee Klejna). Devoted father of John P. Branca, Jr. (Marion), Maria Branca Nestore (Frank), and the late Elizabeth Branca. Loving grandfather of Pennie Latvenas and Jimmy Branca. Proud great-grandfather of Gabriella, Francesco (Rhiannon), Vinnie, Amanda, and the late Dana. Great great-grandfather of Joey, Emily, Louie, Cayson, Brixton, and Kelyn. Dear brother of Annie Harrington, Ray Branca (Patty), and the late Carmen Branca. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. John and his "Furry Companion" Bella are together again in Heaven.
John wanted nothing more than to have the company of his family. His family was everything to him and he'd do anything for them. Every time he got a visit from a loved one they were greeted with a smile and bid goodbye with a hug and kiss. His favorite place to be was the casino. He would go to Resorts every Wednesday to play his lucky 7s and receive his favorite promotion, free wine! He also loved to go to monthly bingo with the Deptford Golden Age club, attend the monthly WWII Veteran's luncheon at Mission BBQ, and his biweekly meetings at the VFW. John was so proud to be a Veteran. His favorite cuisine was his famous pot of gravy, "doggies and beans", and his daily breakfast consisting of a waffle and jelly sandwich with a banana and a cup of coffee. John's favorite TV shows were Western Classics including Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, The Virginian, and Bonanza. Every year for his birthday he enjoyed a strawberry shortcake and his favorite candy to pick on was Maria's homemade chocolate with peanuts. His key to living a long and healthy life was to mind his business and live every day to the fullest. He will be remembered by his tender heart, his warm smile, and his words of wisdom.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to his VFW Post 7679, 8 New York Ave., Mantua, NJ 08051.
