John Leroy Breckenridge, 87, of Oakley, KS died December 8th, 2024, in Topeka, KS. He was born May 22nd, 1937, to John Cecil Breckenridge and Clola Ellen (Bitters) Breckenridge in Oakley, KS.
John had many interests but was especially fond of following the Jayhawks athletic teams and racing of any kind. He had many life experiences with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed spending time at Lake Milford with his family.
He is survived by his daughters Janet (Jeff) McClanahan and Jodi (Brian) Petit; son, Todd Breckenridge; sister, Shirley Lee; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his Oakley family, the Swarts, and his caring neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Bay and Carolyn Bartee; and numerous other relatives.
Visitation is 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary in Oakley. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 16th, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary in Oakley, with burial in Oakley City Cemetery.
