John Bridges Obituary

John Ray Bridges, 95, of Hanover, PA passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home. Born May 27, 1930 in Rogersville, TN, he was a son of the late Fred W. Bridges and Mary M. (née French) Bridges. He was the husband of Nettie Virginia (née Turnbaugh) Bridges, his wife of nearly 69 years. Mr. Bridges had worked as a delivery driver for Cloverland Dairies before his career in sales with New Britain Hand Tools. Following retirement, he repaired law mowers as a hobby. He was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Parkton, MD. Surviving, in addition to his wife are his sister, Joyce Pearce of Wake Forest, NC; nieces Lee George, Lois Huggins, Louise Kelly, and Karen Monteith; nephews, Leslie Ireland and David Bridges; three godchildren; and many great-nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, February 27, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. The family will also receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 2015 Mt. Carmel Road, Parkton with Rev. Fred Sipes officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101 or online at www.stjude.org.
