March 31, 1942 - February 13, 2025
John F. Brisch, 82, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
John was born March 31, 1942 in Decatur, the son of John Frederick and Melba Jean (Anderson) Brisch. He married Nina Sumpter in November, 1987 in Decatur. John worked in maintenance at Mt. Zion Schools for 22 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and bowling and liked camping when he was younger.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Nina; sons: Korey (Jennifer) Brisch of Harristown and Kevin (Elizabeth) Brisch of Missouri; stepchildren: Debra (Terry) Nihiser of Decatur and Michael (Pam) Card of Harristown; grandchildren: Logan Brisch, Chauncy Brisch, Sophia Brisch, Mark Brisch, Matthew Brisch, Regina Brisch, Kimberly Taylor, Kelly McCammack, Kerri Nihiser, Brandi Jones, Sunshine Zuber, and Kyle Snyder; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Alexander, Arial, Gabriel, Madison, Kameron, Carson, Mason, Gage, Danae and Ezzabella; great-great grandson, Richard; brothers: Lyle Brisch of Decatur and John "Billy" (Elizabeth) Brisch of Minneapolis, Minn.; nieces and nephews: Diana Hotwick, Kathy Wilder, Shelby Parish, and Shane Fristoe as well as many other nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kerry Brisch; daughter, Barbara Card; and three sisters: Ester Hunt, Roberta Seward, and Loretta Navaro.
