Ret. CMSgt of the USAF, John Henry Brooks, 93, died on December 20, 2025 at Ocala Regional Hospital, HCA in Ocala, Florida. He was born on February 5, 1932, in Andalusia, Alabama to Rubin A. Brooks and and Lottie Gray (Sandley) Brooks. John met his wife, Rosa, of 71 years when stationed at Wheelus Air Force Base in Tripoli, Libya. They soon married and returned to the United States to live in many different locations due to his service. After retiring form 22 years of service in the USAF, John went on to continue to serve this country as a systems analyst for the Federal Aviation Administration. In 1983, John and Rosa moved to South Florida, eventually making their home in Wellington, Palm Beach County, Florida. Sadly, John and Rosa passed withing 15 days of each other. They will be greatly missed by family and friends. They are survived by their daughters Rhonda Brooks Calderone and Denise Brooks Drinnenberg (Matthew).
There will be a wake for both John and Rosa, on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 9:00 -10:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home in Dunnellon. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. Entombment will take place at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Ocala.
