Mrs. Olive “Ollie” Mae (Markham) Risher, 94, long time resident of Inglis, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her family and her Pastor.
Ollie was born July 6, 1931 in Romeo to Clyde and Clara Markham. She later married Travick Franklin Risher, Sr., and they were married for 52 years, up until his death in 2009. She worked for many years as a bus driver for the Yankeetown School. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Travick Risher, Sr., her son George Risher, her sisters Zennie Belle Spiegelberg, Mamie Era Richards, Clara Florence Smith, and her brothers John Willis Markham, Lewis Markham, Norbert Markham, and Walter Markham.
Her survivors include her children Perry (Susan) Cannon, Travick “Frank” (Kathy) Risher, Gene Risher, Beverly Risher (Brian), and her sister Myrtice Nevina Philips, as well as numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Risher will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Inglis, with her Pastor Bobby Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time. Interment will follow in the Cedars of Lebanon Cemetery.
