Anita Cavalier Risher

Anita Cavalier Risher entered eternal rest on February 26, 2026, at the age of 76. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, Nanny and friend to many.

Anita devoted her life to creating a warm, loving home for her late husband of 55 years, Wayne William Risher, and their sons Wayne Edward, the late Todd William and Ryan Patrick Risher. Anita was the proud grandmother to Chelsey Risher Labonne (Alec), Zachary Todd (Kaitlin) and Kyle Joseph Risher and her great-grandchildren, Ayden Lane and Ava Grace Risher with one more on the way, Allura Rose Risher.

Anita was a homemaker and all that entailed, she was an avid gardener, a talented decorator and an amazing cook but her favorite days were when she babysat her grandchildren. Anita was also a devoted Catholic who found great peace attending mass and saying her prayers and rosary.

Anita was the daughter of the late Marie Canova Keenan (Benny) and the late James Eugene Cavalier (Essie).

Anita leaves behind her only sister and care taker, Jamie Talley along with her brother in law James Talley, her Godchildren; James Talley Jr (Nicci), Janel Talley Pizzolato (David), Judy Burk (Kenneth) and Courtney Reardon Mills, as well as her great nieces and nephew Ashley Pizzolato Reimond (J.J) Megan Talley (Ian), Alexis Pizzolato (Christian), Dylan Talley (Lindsay) and Addison Pizzolato, whom she adored and loved spending time with.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to Anita's dear friend LJ Bordelon who so selflessly gave his time, help and friendship to Anita in the years she was a resident at Laketown, your friendship brought Anita true happiness and knowing you were there with her gave her family great peace and they are forever grateful to you, to the staff and residents of Laketown who became Anita's extended family, as well as Hospice who helped care for Anita in her final months.

A very small service will be held at Laketown Assisted Living Facility on March 11, 2026 with a service at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Anita's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Online condolences may be offered to the family, at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
