David Joseph DeBlanc

David Joseph DeBlanc, aged 83, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 24, 2026.

Born on July 24, 1942, he was the son of Oswald and Catherine Nelson DeBlanc. Following his high school graduation, David joined the United States Air Force from 1963-1969 served as an Airman First Class. He later worked for Qualino Tabacco in New Orleans and retired from the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in New Orleans, where he met his future wife, Clare, while picking her up on his Lakeview bus route. They married in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on July 8, 1996.

In recent years, David found enjoyment in visiting casinos and engaging with what he fondly referred to as "the machines."

David was predeceased by his parents, Oswald and Catherine DeBlanc; his wife, Clare B. DeBlanc; and his grandson, Salvadore E. Macaluso. He is survived by his daughter, Damon King, and her husband Aaron, along with their children: Aaron and his fiancée Trinity, Kyauna, Skyler and his wife Kailyn, and their daughter, Skylynn. He is also survived by several cousins, including Maryann Bernardo, Jack Romano, and Nancy Mills, her husband, Bobby and their daughter Lisa Loze.

Our family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to David's neighbors, Mr. Ken, Mrs. Sylvia, and Mr. Todd and Mrs.LaDonna Vandegrift, for their unwavering support to David and our family over the past several years.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA. 70001 on Thursday, March 5. 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a Mass at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will follow thereafter.
