Maria Oye

Maria Delrobe Oye passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 61, in River Ridge, Louisiana, the same community where she was born and raised.

Maria was the beloved companion of Sammy Zito and a devoted mother to Robert Scheff of Santa Monica, California. She was a cherished sister to Genevieve Oye of San Andres and Johnny Oye of Tampa, Florida. She is also remembered with love by her sister-in-law, Patricia Schexnayder (Donald), and brother-in-law, C. Mack Zito. Maria held a special place in the hearts of her stepchildren, Cassidy Juno, Carey Daniel, and Caitlyn Dupre.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ampora and Henry Oye.

Maria will be deeply missed by her dear friends, Toni Schexnayder and Maria Garcia, as well as many extended family members and loved ones whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and friendship. Maria's life was defined by her love for family, her loyal friendships, and the care she showed to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend her celebration of Life Service on Friday, February 27, 2026 for 11AM at Garden of memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation begins at 10AM. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Watson of Celebration Church, officiating.
