John Leonard Brown, Sr.

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. John Leonard Brown Sr., 75, of Columbia, LA, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro with Rev. Doyle Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Mangham Cemetery in Mangham, LA.

 

Mr. Brown was born September 25, 1947 and passed away on May 17, 2023. He was a member of Gilbert First Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was a professional musician by trade. He loved working on his property in Caldwell Parish and fishing. Mr. Brown was a member of the Coal Miners Band with Loretta Lynn. He also played in the bands for Dolly Parton, Donna Fargo, and Jody Miller just to name a few. Mr. Brown cherished his time spent with family, and more importantly with his pride and joy’s, his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

 

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Erma Johnson Brown.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, John Leonard Brown, Jr and wife Anna; four grandchildren, who brought him so much joy and happiness, Brice Brown Garand and her husband Allan, Carter Brown, Campbell Brown and Julian Batey; one great-granddaughter, Sadie Lynn Garand; great-aunt, Caroline Sue Howard; cousin, Jim Brown; as well as countless friends.

 

Honoring Mr. Brown as pallbearers, Bill Boles, Carlos Smith, Christopher Brister, Dustin Brister, Mike Batey and John Earl Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene King and Danny Joe Barton.

 

Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro.
