John Brunner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. L. Davis Funeral Home on Dec. 19, 2024.
John Thomas Brunner, Jr., 53, of Keedysville, Maryland passed away on December 11, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
John was born on September 11, 1971, in Middletown, Maryland where he resided for most of his life.
He was the son of the late John Thomas Brunner, Sr. and of Beverly K. Brunner (nee Poffenberger).
John began driving a truck at 16 and was a lifelong truck driver. He loved what he did and took great pride in his trucks, often spending hours washing and polishing them until they shined. Over the years, he made many friends through his work. He loved to go to the beach when he was able to, and also enjoyed tinkering with his personal truck, working outside, going out for a drink at the end of the work week with his wife and friends, and sitting on his porch watching the world go by. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick to drop everything to help a friend or family member in need.
John is preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Brunner, Sr. and his brother, Jason.
He leaves behind his wife, Kim; stepdaughters, Stephanie and Nicole (and partner Cody); step granddaughter, Claire; son, Aaron; daughter, Hannah; mother, Beverly; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of traditional funeral services, a celebration of life will be held after the holidays. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides relief to professional over-the-road semi-truck drivers and their families when an illness or injury has led to an inability to work along with health and wellness programs aimed at reducing illnesses that are common in the truck driving community.
